NEW YORK – Colombian pop legend Shakira on Wednesday cancelled the rest of her world tour because of a problem with her vocal cords and said she hoped to be back on stage in June of next 12 months.
“Though I very much hoped to be able to recover my vocal cords in time to choose the tour regress to something easier in January, and after checking out many options compared to that effect, I’ve accepted that is an personal injury that simply needs additional time and health care to mend,” Shakira said in a affirmation on her website.
The “Hips Don’t Rest” star terminated the European leg of her “El Dorado World Travel” in November.
She said she hoped to resume the travel in June 2018 with concerts in European countries, the united states and Latin America.
“I feel for all of you who planned ahead to come quickly to these shows and who’ve been so patient when i took the time needed to find out the best plan of action with my doctors,” Shakira said.
“I really can’t wait for June!” she added. “I assure to offer all of me and even more from the minute I can get on that stage and I am counting the days till showtime!”
