Produced by NBC’s in-house creation unit Universal Television Alternate Studios, along with Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions, the 10-part series give undiscovered dancers the opportunity to showcase their moves and win a grand prize of your million dollars.
Contestants are handpicked from qualifying happenings around the nation and from online submissions. Rivals are divided into three divisions: Junior (any size action and the ones 17 and under, Top (groups of someone to four, 18 and more aged) and Team (sets of five or more, 18 and elderly). Solo dancers go up against duos and crews within an unlimited selection of dance from hip-hop, popping, locking to touch, ballet, break dancing, ballroom, stomping and much more.
Dancers are judged by a panel of boogie superstars including Lopez (who also serves as an professional manufacturer). They include: Derek Hough, NE-YO and Jenna Dewan Tatum.
World of Party was the #1 regular timeslot premiere of 2017 on the broadcast systems in the 18-49 demonstration, and the most-watched summertime alternate series debut on wire or broadcast in nine years, relating to NBC.
