Janhvi Kapoor thanks Madhuri Dixit for signing Sridevi’s next film which was ‘close to her heart’

Late Sridevi’s princess Janhvi Kapoor has affirmed that the Abhishek Varman film, apparently titled Shiddat, that was supposed to star her mother, will now have Madhuri Dixit. Janhvi is also establish to make her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s development Dhadak.

Karan Johar’s development venture, which was to star the past due legendary actor Sridevi, is back on track but with another type of face. The film, to be directed by Abhishek Varman, will now star Madhuri Dixit in the lead role. Confirming the news headlines, Sridevi’s girl Janhvi Kapoor had taken to her Instagram bank account and published, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very near to mom’s heart ….Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being truly a part of this beautiful film.”

According to Mumbai Mirror, a source enlightened that the film, apparently titled Shiddat, is a Partition drama, and its own idea germinated from KJo’s dad, overdue Yash Johar. However, it remained an unfulfilled dream till Karan paid the project to Abhishek, that has helmed Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor’s 2 Claims. Sources near to Janhvi disclosed that the filming would commence from April this year.

The film was to unite Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt after 25 years but now it would be interesting to see Madhuri and Sanjay overtaking the screens. Interestingly, Madhuri and Sridevi were touted as the largest rivals and contemporaries of the 80s-90s when the two ruled the Hindi movie theater.


As far as the film can be involved, reports claim that aside from Madhuri, the film will also star Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor is prepping up for the discharge of her debut film, Dhadak. The film, aimed by Shashank Khaitaan and produced under Dharma Productions, will head to the theaters on June 1 this year. The film, which is a remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat, would also see Shahid Kapoor’s brother, Ishaan Khatter.
