Emmy nominee Dolly Parton still gets a kick out of Hollywood BY SAEED NASIR

The Sevier State native can make a Television appearance tomorrow on the ACM Honors where she’ll agree to an award. Two days later…she’ll be at the Primetime Emmy awards.

Dolly Parton says she’s excited to maintain the Hollywood combination on Emmy Awards weekend.

The 71-year-old entertainer was one of the superstars making the pre-show party rounds Friday with an end at Variety and Women in Film’s gathering at Gracias Madre restaurant in West Hollywood, California.

“All the gatherings, viewing all the superstars… I still get a kick out of it,” Parton said. “I’m a country young lady.”

Using a skin-tight dark-colored rhinestone-studded dress, Parton said she’s also worked up about her outfit and wig for Sunday’s show. She’s up for an Emmy in the TV movie category for “Dolly Parton’s Xmas of Many Colors: Group of Love.”

Parton’s weekend was not all about nice gatherings, though. She said she put in some time in the kitchen earlier Friday.

“Well, I made some sausage and biscuits for my trip home on the bus after the shows are over. And I made some chicken breast and dumplings, a few little groceries i come up with,” she said. “See, I travel in my own head to bus and I always cook my own food. In order that had not been very glamorous, but it was good.”

There’s no expression on whether Parton indulged in the snacks dished up at the get together, which included little empanadas and cheese-filled roasted figs. Viola Davis partook in the ice cream sundae club, topping her scoop with frosted pet animal cookies.

Meanwhile, stars stuffed the restaurant’s terrace. Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade chatted with friends, “The Handmaid’s Story” star Samira Wiley kept hands with her better half, and Kate Flannery hugged William H. Macy as he and Felicity Huffman made their way through the public.

Other friends included Sarah Hyland, Tracee Ellis Ross, Lea Michele, Judith Light, Claire Foy and Brian Tyree Henry.

The tv set academy also held a party Friday night for behaving nominees, where John Turturro, Angela Bassett and Laverne Cox were on the list of guests
