Coldplay has dedicated a tune titled Houston #1 to the subjects of Hurricane Harvey.
The British strap was due going to the level at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas last Friday (25Aug17) but were forced to postpone the gig following the tropical cyclone caused catastrophic flooding in the U.S. point out and led to at least 15 deaths.
However, those afflicted by the storm remained in the group member’s hearts, with frontman Chris Martin leading the group in a “one-off” performance of new tune Houston throughout their concert at the Hard Rock and roll Stadium in Miami, Florida on Monday.
“We thought, well, since we’re in Miami and we have a couple of days to free, let’s write a tune for Houston and we’ll sing it for you tonight and we’ll send it over there,” he said in an introduction. “We all grew up loving country music, and undoubtedly that’s kind of what we should think of whenever we go to Tx. So if you’ll carry around, this is a fresh track and we’ll never play this again.
