Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli got married in an exclusive wedding ceremony in Italy on Mon but apparently, the dream wedding had not been devoid of ‘disaster moments’. Wedding custom Devika Narayan, who designed the ‘Virushka’ wedding, has informed BBC within an interview that they experienced such an instant, thanks to the elements in Tuscany.
Anushka and Virat occurred at a countryside holiday resort called Borgo Finocchieto in the Tuscany region of Italy – one of the most expensive trip properties on earth.
Asked if she encountered any disaster second or panicked through the hush-hush wedding, Devika advised BBC in an interview, “Weather. It really is winters here (in Italy) and no one gets hitched in the winters here. Around the morning of the marriage day, we all woke up to a completely white landscape and the dew had frozen. It was frozen around by 10 and by noon it was dripping. The outside function had to be moved to an inside courtyard.”
Devika, who in addition has worked on wedding ceremonies for Robin Venu Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, among others, further told the news headlines channel, “WHILE I fulfilled them (Virat and Anushka), I maintained handling Anushka as ‘bride’ and she was like, ‘what’s wrong to you?’. I informed her, ‘I need to condition myself so that we don’t take your name anywhere’.”
Further elaborating on the kind of a wedding ceremony Anushka desired, Devika informed the interviewer, “Anushka is an average bride and I did not be expectant of her to be one. She got reference images and was invested in every decision. All of this was her idea and we just planned it all.”
“The function was like a typical Indian wedding. We had a welcome lunch break, we’d a sangeet on the first day. The second day was excellent, colourful mehendi and that night was supposed to be a bonfire nights but it rained. We were all huddled around one giant campfire. There was karaoke and everyone was singing,” she added.
Devika also advised BBC about the come back items that the guests received: “Anushka and Virat are extremely spiritual people, I don’t know how many people know this however they wanted everything to function around the idea of growth and prosperity. So the complete venue was as an over grown garden and they are big admirers of Rumi and his poetry so an anthology of his poems received as a take back gift.”
Virat and Anushka intend to number a reception in New Delhi for his or her relatives on December 21 which is accompanied by a reception for couple’s Bollywood friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26.
