Having known each for over four . 5 years now, actors Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla are set to tie the knot on June 21 in a palace in Shimla. Super excited about their D-Day, the couple admits it’s difficult to juggle being truly a part of a daily soap and remove time for wedding preparations, yet they are really guaranteeing to “make the voyage worth the knowledge”. In the freewheeling chat, Rubina talks about the preps, the idea behind keeping it all low key, the excess vows and their eco-friendly wedding greeting card that’s making a lot of hype.
At what point in your romantic relationship you decided that is the right time for relationship?
Before we dated, we did the trick together in my own first show, 10 years ago, but then we didn’t know the other person very well, we only knew of every other. And your choice of taking our relationship to relationship wasn’t based on a right or an incorrect time. We just thought that people need to get wedded and we made things happen for us.
What was the theory behind your organic wedding card with a spaling? Does you take a cue from Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s card?
No, we didn’t know that Virat – Anushka also experienced this theme for his or her wedding invitation; it’s just a coincidence. But I’m so happy that we are changing as a era and becoming so liable towards the environment. The theory was to take action important and eco-friendly, as lavishness is not necessarily identified by mindless use of things that just look beautiful and provide no goal. Also, we wished to surprise friends a token of understanding and say thanks to them giving them a life. It’s in the form of a flower or sapling and we named it ‘let the love grow’. Through this invitation, we could sharing a piece of our contentment, pleasure and joy.

Was it too much of an effort to prepare all these invites by yourself?
Abhinav really believes in doing things on our own like DIY [Do it yourself], as they have an individual touch to it. Everyone can spend a lot of money but spending a great deal of energy and work behind really takes a lot of courage and dedication. And my friend, Keerti Kelkar (professional) helped me a great deal in putting thing along and providing it a beautiful look.
Though you’re getting hitched in a Palace, nevertheless, you seem to be to be keeping it quite private. Why is that?
We always wished to have a low key wedding because for us, it’s celebrating each other’s existence with our family members only. Also, having it in a palace is not the theory for an extravagant affair because Raj Kumar Uday Singh offered my father that he’d wish to web host our wedding in his palace and hence the idea came forth. Also, Abhinav wished to have a wedding in the mountains or a forest which palace is lavishly spread in a forest with trees around, so that it came up like a perfect setting.
Do you intend to talk about a whole lot of videos and photographs from your marriages, on social marketing?
Our wedding, especially the rituals we’re doing with relatives and buddies, that’s absolutely a personal and an exclusive affair and we want to keep it like that. We aren’t looking at publicising or placing them on cultural mass media and make it a open public affair.
Besides the seven traditional vows, you also plan to exchange seven more vows. Can too many promises wipe out the excitement?
These vows are not to bind or weigh down each other with pledges or responsibilities. They may be a commitment or reminder to self to maintain each other’s life, creating value, co creating memories and being each other’s durability. And nothing that people commit to ourselves burdens our partner.
