I really like Bollywood for its brutal credibility, says Manav Kaul BY SAEED NASIR

The 40-year-old professional believes the no-holds-barred characteristics of people in Bollywood induces an artiste to improve his/her performance.

Vidya Balan and Manav Kaul play husband-wife in Tumhari Sulu.
Having played prominent roles in motion pictures like Kai Po Che, Wazir and Jolly LLB 2, professional Manav Kaul says the in-your-face honesty of the film industry is the reason why he loves being truly a part of it.

The 40-year-old actor thinks the no-holds-barred characteristics of men and women in Bollywood induces an artiste to improve his/her performance. Manav says, “I really like this industry because they are extremely brutal. If you are good (at your task), they’ll obtain you with both of your hands. If not, they will let you know, as it is. But they are brutal not work wise. In the event that you go to award functions and are a nobody, no one will click pictures along. It really is good as they don’t keep you under an illusion.”

The acting professional, who appears in the business lead opposite Vidya Balan in Tumhari Sulu, says he’s content with his career on the market so far. “I am happy doing good work. Whatever money I am getting, I am happy with it. I really know what I am getting is exactly what I am worthwhile. I am building myself as an acting professional. Ideally, things wull only progress from here,” he says.

Manav says he despises the term character celebrities and rejects the idea of being truly a “hero”. “To try out a hero, it feels very stupid. What is hero? I have no idea. Personally i think everyone in a film is a figure. In the event that you consider and think a hero is anyone who has his own report in the film then if so in Kai Po Che and Wazir even I had been performing based on my history.”

With Tumhari Sulu, the acting professional says he has tried out to veer off serious and dark assignments and was restless about it. “I used to be only getting offers for tasks of a villain and I said no as I wanted to change my conception as an actor. I waited for one-and-a-half years for different things to come my way till Tumhari Sulu occurred. I believe the makers observed some stupidity in me. I am in the lead and I’ve more moments in the film. I got a little uncertain about the dance thing. I was anxious as I was doing it for the very first time,” he says.

The comedy-drama is defined to release on November 17.
