It’s looking like the Neglect America crown won’t avoid 2017 untarnished.

On Thursday, the Huffington Post posted emails allegedly delivered between Neglect America Business CEO Sam Haskell and different board members where winners were slut-shamed, fat-shamed and called crude names.

The Neglect America Organization didn’t immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for comment.

HuffPo reporter Yashar Ali obtained a three years’ price of internal email messages that he says comprised sources to contestants’ putting on weight and jokes about the women’s intimacy lives.

Response was swift. The Associated Press reviews that Dick Clark Productions, developer of the live telecast, has slice ties with the Miss America Organization due to offensive correspondence.

The plank also trashed past contestants. In 2014, table member Tammy Haddad allegedly described some former Neglect Americas as a “pile of malcontents and has beens who blame this program for not getting them where they think they can go.”

Internal emails show particularly vulgar language directed at 2013 winner Mallory Hagan.

In August 2014, Haskell received an email that said Hagan’s hairdresser have been commenting on Hagan’s gender life, as well as her recent weight gain.

Haskell forwarded the email to Miss America telecast lead writer Lewis Friedman and mentioned, “Not a single day moves i am not told some horrible tale about Mallory.”

Friedman replied, “Mallory’s preparing for her new profession … as a blimp in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. As she continues to damage her own trustworthiness, her tone of voice will draw in less and less notice while she proceeds her descent to the unsatisfied pathetic footnote.”

Friedman ended the email with, “Ps. Are we four the sole ones never to have (slept with) Mallory?”

Haskell replied, “It seems we are the only ones!”

At the end of December 2015, e-mail suggest Haskell noticed Hagan was in my opinion maligning him. The Huffington Post records that Hagan was informally suspended from coaching future Pass up America contestants and “immediately after, Hagan’s lucrative instruction business fell apart.”

There was also disdain for Television commentator Gretchen Carlson, who gained the Pass up America subject in 1989 and was on the organization’s table of directors for quite some time. The primary cause, regarding to HuffPo, was Carlson’s force to modernize the organization and her refusal to harm former Miss Americas.

When Carlson declined to speak out against previous Pass up America Kate Shindle (who had questioned Haskell’s steep pay in her memoir), Haddad allegedly called the anchor a “snake” within an email to Haskell, adding, “but now u have never (sic) doubts concerning her commitment.”

Following the HuffPo account broke, Carlson tweeted that she was “shocked and deeply saddened by the disgusting assertions about women related to the leadership of the MAO. No female should be demeaned with such vulgar slurs.”
