Behind every successful man is a woman, should go the oft used and tired cliche. But imagine if we let you know that the man and woman need not be related but can simply be ‘Hu Ba Hu’ essentially? Well, that’s what the third song from Akshay Kumar-starrer Padman appears to be saying.

The song, distributed by Akshay on Thursday night morning, traces the hero’s voyage and his changing equations along with his spouse, essayed by Sonam Kapoor. The ‘spouse’ is really his English professor who shares his vision and goal. The film also features Radhika Apte as Akshay’s partner.

Entitled Hu Ba Hu, the songs composed and sung by Amit Trivedi also has vocals by Rajiv Sundaresan and Suhas Sawant. It’s been penned by Kausar Munir. Akshay performs a character motivated from the true life Menstrual Man of India, Arunachalam Murugananthan. The film shows how he transforms from a naive town man to an innovator who not only provides better and cheaper menstrual cleanliness for the women around him but also creates jobs on their behalf. The song’s training video shows his trip as Sonam continues maximizing his morale and Akshay slowly and gradually realises her concerns for him.

Sharing the song, Akshay wrote,” You don’t have to be life partners to change lives…you could just be #HuBaHu! New song from @PadManTheFilm out now!👇🏻 http://bit.ly/HuBaHu @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte @mrsfunnybones @SonyPicsIndia @kriarj #RBalki.”

Muruganantham wanted to “please his wife” by changing her rag material with a sanitary pad and was advised that it could disturb their family budget. Padman catches Muruganantham’s efforts to make a cheap sanitary pad, his experiments with using one and using animal blood to check if it leaked and the hostile result of his community for chatting openly about menstruation. Padman is the second film, after Phullu, to be produced about them.

Directed by R Balki, the film also features Sonam Kapoor in a lead role. It is slated going to theatres on January 26.
