Leonardo DiCaprio has signed up with the set of celebrities who have pledged donations to Hurricane Harvey comfort efforts.
Through his Leonardo DiCaprio Base, The Revenant actor has donated $1 million to the recently established United Way Harvey Restoration Finance, reported Variety.
The newly set up fund that was released by United Way Worldwide on August 30 “will disperse 100 percent of donations for restoration in the afflicted areas, community by community, in the weeks and years in advance.”
The USD 1 million from DiCaprio’s base signifies the inaugural donation to the finance.

“We are amazingly grateful for the generosity of Leonardo DiCaprio and his basis,” United Way Worldwide President and CEO Brian Gallagher said in a declaration.
“Giving an answer to Hurricane Harvey requires the on top of that of us-and that’s what this present represents. United Way’s Harvey Recovery Fund will provide much-needed help for the communities along the Gulf Seacoast where lives have been altered forever.”
Terry Tamminen, CEO of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, added, “Really is endless others will intensify and support the United Way and other organizations.”
Sandra Bullock and Leonardo DiCaprio, are leading the way in superstars’ donations to comfort attempts for those influenced by Hurricane Harvey in Tx and Louisiana, but numerous others have pledged sizable sums to charities.
Before, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has donated to recovery work following a 2004 tsunami, the Haiti earthquake and Hurricane Sandy.
Other celebrities, who have donated for hurricane comfort efforts are ‘Sean Diddy’ Combs, Ruby Rose, Rachael Ray, Ellen Degeneres, and Fall Out Boy.
Sandra Bullock also just lately donated USD 1 million to the North american Red Combination for hurricane comfort efforts.
