The first truck for Ocean’s 8 is here now BY SAEED NASIR

The first truck for Ocean’s 8, recently called Ocean’s Eight and previously, previously called Ocean’s Ocho, is here.

As we already recognized from wildly early on promotion and super cool posters, Ocean’s 8 stars an all-star ensemble ensemble of Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, and Helena Bonham Carter.

The trailer positions Sandra Bullock’s character at the helm of a fresh heist crew anchored by Cate Blanchett. Mindy Kaling plays a charms expert, Rihanna a mystical hacker type, Helena Bonham Carter works in fashion, Sarah Paulson’s a unwilling mommy, and Awkwafina takes on a street-smart hustler. The target is Anne Hathaway’s character, or even more specifically, her $150,000,000 necklace. At first glance, the pacing, shade, and laughter of the truck seems constant with previous Sea films.

The film is a twist on Steven Soderbergh’s early aughts heist series (Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen), a trilogy in which the crew pulling off the central “impossible” caper grew by one individual each time. An awful premise, however, many pretty entertaining videos! Soderbergh is merely a developer on Ocean’s 8, that was aimed by Pleasantville along with the Hunger Games director Gary Ross. It was co-written by Ross and Dude copy writer Olivia Milch.

Confusingly, given the original sequencing of volumes, Ocean’s 8 is a sequel to the George Clooney and Brad Pitt-led Ocean’s films. The “Ocean” in the name, is Bullock, who plays a character named Debbie Ocean, the “estranged sister” of Clooney’s Danny Ocean. Sadly, Matt Damon — who made an appearance in every three of Soderbergh’s motion pictures and has been discussing a whole lot about things he doesn’t caution to understand — will be reprising his role in a cameo performance.

Due out next June, Ocean’s 8 will be released 11 years following the last installment of the initial series. It will probably make big money, which is cool, unless of course Warner Bros. desires to make greater than a couple sequels they will have to omit from Ocean’s 10 to Ocean’s 14?
