Every admirer, who whooped and cheered when the Hulk declared to Captain America that he’s always upset, and proceeded to smash a giant alien in the first Avengers film, would have been slightly amazed when Bruce Banner spent the vast majority of Avengers: Infinity Conflict as himself rather than as his angry, inexperienced alter-ego. The directors of the film, Joe & Anthony Russo, have disclosed why Banner had such a hard time ‘Hulking’ out in Infinity Conflict.
“I think people have interpreted it as Hulk’s terrified. I mean, certainly, that’s not a… I don’t know that the Hulk is ever… he’s got his ass kicked before, and he enjoys a good battle. But I think that it’s really reflective of the journey from Ragnarok,” Joe said within an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Inside the first scene of Infinity Conflict, place on the villainous Thanos’ spaceship, Banner is summoned with a familiar ‘We have a Hulk’ call, and he gets beaten down by Thanos. He is then transported back again to Globe, where he informs Doctor Strange and Tony Stark of the impending menace. Through the entire film, we see Banner attempt to transform into the Hulk, but with little success. In the climactic challenge in Wakanda, he’s given an armour by Tony to help him fight alongside the Avengers.
“These two character types are constantly incompatible with the other person over control. And I think that if the Hulk were to state why, it’d be Banner only wishes Hulk for fighting. I think he’s had enough of keeping Banner’s a**,” Russo continued.
The directors possessed also clarified on the same podcast why certain displays we found in the trailer weren’t in the final film.
About the Hulk problem, as it’s been christened online, the filmmakers claim that both Banner and Hulk are individual characters, each along with his own head. And Hulk is sick and tired of guarding Banner, especially following the occasions of Thor: Ragnarok.
Infinity War, on the other hand, has become the highest grossing Hollywood movie in India, with over Rs 246 crore in the lender. The film’s global total stands at $1.1 billion, which it offers made in record time.
