Skill has a unifying ability, and showing it at the 71st Cannes Film Festivity where Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor and Pakistani acting professional Mahira Khan distributed a warm moment in time greeting each other and displayed bonhomie on Monday.

Both the stars walked the red carpet for makeup products gigantic L’Oreal Paris, but before they stepped out, they distributed a warm second jointly — as seen in a photograph doing the rounds on public media. Sonam sometimes appears planting a kiss on Mahira’s forehead.

For her first red carpet look this season, Sonam looked glowing and resplendent in a dreamy and sensitive pastel-hued Ralph and Russo lehenga ensemble, with her locks loosely linked in a braid and accessorised with a detailed ‘parandi’.

She used simple earrings by Chopard, and the elaborate henna design still adorned the hands of the professional, who committed long-time beau Anand Ahuja just last week.

“Wearing a dress that feels like it’s manufactured from starlight,” Sonam published on Instagram.

She captioned another image: “Moonbeams and Mediterranean dreams”, with another photograph titled: “All the stars are away tonight.”

Mahira, on the other palm, wore a dark off-shoulder dress following the ensemble she was anticipated to wear acquired stuck at the customs and didn’t turn up in time.

“I’m stressed,” she composed before making her red carpet debut, but her self-assured demeanour was a head-turner at the gala, where she and Sonam walked one after another.

Mahira dedicated her representation at Cannes as an “ode to the people I’ve loved a lot…. and have influenced me since I had been a little lady. Starting from my Ama to Minaal and Rooha… right down to all my women back home in Pakistan”.
